The brief
Calculator sites win visitors through single search queries and lose them again to sign-up walls, ads and tools that do not answer the actual question. The brief was the opposite: usable immediately, understandable immediately.
The approach
Four categories — financial, fitness and health, math and everyday — give the catalogue a structure that holds as it grows. Each calculator sits on its own route and answers exactly one question. Accompanying articles explain the maths behind it and link to the matching tool.
What was built
More than 200 calculators across category and detail routes, an editorial section with over 40 articles, and an information architecture that works from individual search hits rather than only from the home page.
